NYDC/New York Dance Creators was founded in 1999 by Wakako Ishida with Kasei Inoue, who was both trained and performed as dancers for many years in New York City. They have created their own visual dance world through collaboration with a diversity of artists whose cultural backgrounds are different from each other, but they all share the common thread of enthusiasm for dance in New York. NYDC has been consistently performing in New York’s theatres, studios, live house, and alternative spaces such as abandoned school building and art galleries, even in the woods of nothern Japan or historical sights in Rome and Paris.
